Eyewear Donations Accepted

When you are ready to let go of an old pair, we can help it find a new home.

Spectrum Optical is proud to put your used frames and lenses to good use with our partnership with your local Lions Club.

The Lions Clubs International operates a program called Recycle For Sight that collects and redistributes donated eyeglasses to people in need around the world. The program has been in operation since 1932 and has helped millions of people who lack access to basic eye care.

When someone donates their eyeglasses to a Lions Club drop-off location or eyeglass recycling center (like Spectrum Optical), the glasses are sorted, cleaned, and categorized by prescription strength. The glasses are then distributed to people in need through humanitarian missions, clinics, and eye camps in developing countries.

In addition to distributing donated eyeglasses, the Lions Clubs International also works to provide access to basic eye care services and eye health education in underserved communities around the world. The organization’s vision is to help prevent blindness and improve the quality of life for people with vision impairments.
